Me voici arrivé à Paris.
Hello Everyone,
This newsletter comes to you this time from the train, at the beginning of a route that will bring me at 10,000 kms from home, from Europe to a small african island.
In the name of the expat blog team, thank you for your enthusiasm after the last newsletter. We really appreciated your support.
Welcome to the new members!
Expat blog is an online multicultural community dedicated to expatriates and their adventures all around the world. The website is designed and developped by expatriates for expatriates. Why this project? Because we think we could exchange shortcuts, help a little bit each other and because it's much better to read an expat blog than a travel brochure when you want to discover life in a foreign country.
Everybody can contribute to the project, and help others by typing small articles on the resources/wiki or by answering to questions on the forum.
You've got ideas?
You think we should develop new features or integrate existing tools (such as a FAQ section or a currency converter for example), because it would be really usefull or just pretty cool ... please let us know!
We're thinking about improving a lot of things in the next months, and we're interested in your ideas an your point of view.
One new feature on the forum
Several active members asked on the forum how to get a signature with small flags, that would show they route. We thought it would be a pretty cool feature, and we've prepared a first prototype of a signature generator, that you'll find here. We hope you'll like it! Do not hesitate to say what you think about it on the forum.
The blog of the month
This month we've selected Multi Tongue Kids, written by Clo in Paris.
We really like her blog. "The Multi Tongue Kids blog begun in August 2005, when my first son, then aged 16 months, started to develop his verbal communication in both Italian, Dutch and French. As we are raising him quadrilingual, my preoccupation and interest for multilingualism motivated me to record his speech development, and a blog seemed a cool idea" ... find out more here.
Send us pictures
As you've noticed, the pictures (randomly) displayed on the index page of the website have been sent by members. If you send us a nice picture, with the name of the place where it's been taken, we'll add it with pleasure to our base and we'll display a small link to your blog each time your picture is shown.
Help us to promote the website
It's complicated for the team to develop the website and to promote it in the same time everywhere in the world. This time again you can help us!
Share your ideas with us, talk to your friends about the website, or just add a small logo on your blog (you'll find more info about how to add a logo on your blog here)
Have a nice day, we wish you the best of luck in all your projects!
Julien, on behalf of the expat blog team
